CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

The Istituto Italiano di Cultura in New York - financed by the Italian government, sponsors a variety of cultural events involving Italian writers, artists, filmmakers, as well as conferences by ItaloAmerican

The Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Washington DC - financed by the Italian government, sponsors a variety of cultural events involving Italian writers, artists, filmmakers, as well as conferences by ItaloAmerican personalities.

The Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Chicago - financed by the Italian government, sponsors a variety of cultural events involving Italian writers, artists, filmmakers, as well as conferences by ItaloAmerican personalities.

The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) - is the major advocate in Washington, DC for nearly 25 million Italian Americans, the nation's fifth largest ethnic group. Its mission is to preserve and protect Italian-American heritage and culture.    

The Italian Cultural Society of Washington D.C. - a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the appreciation and knowledge of Italian language and culture in the Washington, DC area. It creates opportunities to explore the many facets of Italian culture, and to strengthen bonds between Italians and Americans.

Fieri - an international organization of students and young professionals between the ages of 18 and 39 dedicated to preserving Italian culture and encourage the study of Italian and Italian American history, fostering the values of higher education and personal achievement in young Italian Americans, facilitating career opportunities and networking relationships for young professionals, and promoting a positive image of Italian Americans in the mass media and popular culture.     

Order of the Sons of Italy in America (OSIA) - originally established as a mutual aid society for the early Italian immigrants, today OSIA is the leading service and advocacy organization for the nation's estimated 24 million people of Italian descent. Its missions include encouraging the study of Italian language and culture in American schools and universities; preserving Italian American traditions, culture, history and heritage; and promoting closer cultural relations between the United States and Italy.

UNICO National - a nationwide service organization whose membership is exclusively open to American men and women of Italian heritage, or persons married to men and women of Italian heritage, of good character and reputation. Members are united in a national chain, working jointly on national projects and separately on community activities, to uplift the prestige of Italian people.

Italian Folk Art Federation of America - exists to preserve and foster interest in Italian folk arts; to research Italian folklore, traditions, costumes, dances, songs, instruments, etc.; to act as a center for gathering and disseminating the information, and to bring together Italian folk performing groups and other interested individuals.

John D. Calandra Italian American Institute - the primary purpose of the Institute, which is central mission of the City University of New York, is to foster higher education among Italian-Americans.
